17 Nov The Tallest Christmas Tree in the Philippines; a 172 foot-tall found in Tagum City
Tagum City has set up a ginormous Christmas tree in time for the celebration of their holiday festivities to honor its patron saint, Christ the King.
The 172 foot-tall Christmas Tree in Tagum broke its own record which was a 153 feet in 2007. The tradition of putting up a giant tree was started by former Mayor Rey Uy during his term in 2001-2003. The tree was a lot shorter and smaller back then.
The structure and all the lights including accessory structures on the ground cost about P2.4 million according to Mayor Allan Rellon.
It surpassed the 100 feet Christmas tree in Cubao, Quezon City.
