12 Sep Teenage Girl Undergoes Free Burn Surgery In South Korea
In an article from Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, a 14-year-old girl, named Princess Dian O. Bocado, who has a severe burn damage on her face will undergo a free burn surgery and treatment today, September 12, at the Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, Seoul in South Korea.
Princess was chosen by Hallym Burn Foundation to be the recipient of the program and she will also be enjoying an all expense free trip in her stay in the country.
Since 2009, the Hallym Burn Foundation serves as the partner of the J.R. Borja General Hospital in conducting a medical mission in Cagayan de Oro and nearby provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Camiguin.
In 2016, there are a total of 88 patients from the said areas who availed of the free medical service.
The free burn operation was made possible through the collaboration of the City Government represented by J.R Borja General Hospital under the Acting Chief of Hospital Dr. Ramon M. Nery, and the Hallym Burn Foundation represented by Hallym University Medical Center-Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital headed by Director Dr. Wook Chun.
