26 Jul THE NEST: Grand Opening and VIP Night – The Most Explosive and Star-studded Event to Ever Happen in Cdo
One of the biggest, grandest, and most Instagram-able parties in Cagayan de Oro just happened last July 23, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. This was the party that kicked off the grand opening of The Nest.
This is Cagayan de Oro’s newest restaurant hub that houses two unique food concepts: the Maison de Bon Bon Café and Restaurant and the Giuseppe Pizzeria and Sicilian Roasts. The former is French inspired while the latter is more into Italian and Sicilian dishes.
The décor, mood, and food was definitely into high mood gear on that night, with great music mixes provided by DJ Red and DJ Miss J.
Event Highlights
Mr. Henrik Yu, proprietor of Bigby’s Quality Foods, the umbrella food service company where The Nest belongs (along with Bigby’s, Missy Bon Bon, and Boy Zugba), gave a short speech to introduce The Nest, particularly, Maison de Bon Bon and Giuseppe.
He introduced one of the owners of the Nest, Mr. Giuseppe, to the public, who in turn offered a short speech as well. An intermission number was also performed by Meriel and Arthur.
Instagram Contest Winners – Meet & Greet
Some weeks before this grand party event, The Nest held an Instagram contest for those posting their pictures of the two restaurants on the site.

The winners of this contest plus some of Cagayan de Oro’s top fashion bloggers then got the chance to meet and rub elbows with The Nest Squad on Saturday afternoon before the party. This group is composed of five of the Philippine’s top fashion bloggers and digital influencers, the first time in the Philippines that all five have been gathered for one event.

Ms. Laureen Uy is a popular Manila fashion and travel blogger; Nicole Andersson (not the American actress) is a top fashion, travel, makeup and lifestyle blogger.

Vern and Verniece Enciso are sisters and top travel, lifestyle and beauty bloggers; and Camille Co is a fashion designer, model, and stylist blogger.
You could say that they’re similar to the Mod Squad in the U.S. back in the 1970’s, if you can still remember that far, or if you lived through that era.
Extravagant Fashion Show at the Nest
Gil Macaibay III, Cagayan de Oro’s top fashion designer, then presented some of his models as they ramped up and down the restaurant in a fashion show that featured the models carrying different Nest dishes.
The event was hosted by James Tubeo and Nessalou Sabejon. After the fashion show, Gil Macaibay III went up on stage.
Call it a different sort of fashion and food show, if you will.

The Food
Eventually, all the guests got to enjoy the buffet tables prepared for that night, giving everyone a chance to sample some of the dishes and foods served by The Nest restaurants.

Photo Booth for the Guests
Throughout the party night, many of the guests got to enjoy the photo booth where they can have their individual or group pictures taken.
A photo booth session was also on hand so groups can have their picture taken with The Nest Squad.
The Nest: Maison de Bon Bon Café and Restaurant and Giuseppe Pizzeria and Sicilian Roasts is located at the corner of Corrales Avenue and Ramon Chavez, almost beside Boy Zugba.
