Top 10 ANIME We Loved As Kids

Top 10 ANIME We Loved As Kids

As children, we had a lot of time, unlimited energy, and a very short attention span. Not even the relentless rant and multiple spanking we received from our parents would make us behave. But if for some reason we just sat and stayed in one place more than once, that would be because of the ANIMEs we watched on TV.

Remember the moments when we endlessly sang the theme songs of shows like Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk or Ghost Fighter? Or when ran like hell after the last period every single afternoon just so we won’t miss even a single second of our favorite show? And don’t you ever forget the instances where you won’t care what your parents do to you because you didn’t wash the dishes, as long as you get to watch every minute of it?

Here are Top 10 Animes we watched as kids:

10.Beyblade

The reason we collected tops and flattened bottle caps so that we can battle in palangganas in our backyard. Beyblade is a Japanese manga series by Takao Aoki to promote sales of spinning tops. The series focuses on a group of kids who form teams with which they battle one another using Beyblades.

9.Zoids

Remember shouting “Zekeeee” in front of the TV with Van Flyheight as they start fighting different Zoids in each episode? Well, I do. Zoids: Chaotic Century, simply titled Zoids, is the first anime series based on the Zoids range of mecha model kits by TOMY.

8.Samurai X

Also referred as simply Rurouni Kenshin is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The story begins during the 11th year of the Meiji period in Japan. And follows a former assassin from the Bakumatsu, known as Hitokiri Battosai.

7.Hunter X Hunter

I can still recall arguing with my friends during playtime on who should be Gon or Killua, as we follow them on their adventures in becoming a Hunter with Leorrio and Kurapika.

6.Pokemon

Collecting various Pokemon cards, playing the different game versions, and watching all the anime series. Pokemon is something no one would forget.

5.Flame of Recca

Nadare, Saiha, Setsuna. Remember memorizing these and the other names of Recca’s dragons so that you can tell your friends how awesome you are? Me too. This anime gave us goosebumps with its amazing fight scenes and cool weapons.

4.Voltes V

LET’S VOLT IN !! I needn’t say more, we all know this line and how awesome this show is. Before we even discovered GUNDAM and other mech animes, this is and still will be one the best.

3.Slam Dunk

The show is about a basketball team in Shohoku High School and its main character, Sakuragi. He made us laugh our hearts out while he tried to complete himself as a basketball player, surpass his rival Rukawa and gain the love of a girl, named Haruko. Sounds cheesy but, we all loved it.

2.Ghost Fighter

Eugene, Alfred, Dennis, and Vincent. There was nothing we wouldn’t in order to watch this every afternoon and help Eugene shoot his “Ray-Gun”.  We followed their adventures ‘till the end and felt emptiness after the last episode.

1.Dragonball Z

Last but definitely not the least, remember that epic moment when we put our hands up to help Goku form the Spirit Bomb against Kid Buu?? Haha, DBZ is simply the best anime we watched as kids and it’s still gaining popularity now with the airing of Dragonball Super.

ANIMEs are some of the few things that gave and will still give us that little spark of happiness we need. It doesn’t matter how old you are now, watch these shows when you’re down and it’ll definitely lift your spirits up.
