23 Jul Top Caterers in Cagayan de Oro – For Special Occasions and Other Catering Opportunities
When talking about food services, it isn’t all just about restaurants, cafes, and even fast foods. The unsung heroes of the food service are the professional caterers. These caterers have often been around for many years in one place, yet you never see them advertised on TV ads, highway tarpaulins, and you even seldom see a signage of their place. Their place of business is usually their residence, and when there is a signage, you don’t see a well-manicured restaurant or store window on the outside. And yet upon entering their business premises, they’re all business and very well equipped for every conceivable catering occasion they can think of.
So the next time you’re attending a large outdoor wedding or a garden party for your friend’s daughter’s debut, never take caterers for granted. They are doing a really unsung job setting up the place, and perhaps you might want to give particular attention to the really delicious and well prepared buffet meals by some of the best cooks in the catering food service.
Fablues is one of those caterers that you’ve probably heard of but can’t remember where you’ve seen them.
It’s probably because you’ve seen their signage along 13th and 15th Streets in Nazareth Subdivision.
Fablues is well known around the city for their really delectable pasta and lasagna dishes. It’s not unusual that they have several take-out orders per day for their lasagna and other viands that are picked up by customers for those small occasions that don’t really need full catering services.
The place is effectively run by Paz Fabello and her family. According to Ms. Fabello, her secret for so many years of cooking delicious dishes and desserts is being a loyal patron of Nestle Food Service.
Tita Mimi’s Catering and Food Services
One of the most popular and oldest catering services in the city, they are located along 15th and 23rd Streets in Nazareth Subdivision.
Their home-cook-tasting catering services offer everything from large events and occasions including corporate catering, packed lunches, small buffets, and cocktails.
It’s also not unusual to see several customers per day ordering take-out orders for their lasagna and potato salad dishes.
Their catering can be offered on a per-person basis, special packages, and snack and dessert special buffets.
They even offer special pork lechon and lechon baka packages.
They actually make a lot of rounds with many government agencies and politicians in the city.
Again, they have been known loyal users of Nestle Food Service products for many years now.
Makiyaki Caters and Mobile Bar CDO
All the way from Naga City, Bicol, Makiyaki Caters expanded in Cagayan de Oro and has since been operating for three years already. Called Makiyaki Caters and Mobile Bar, they offer catering services specializing in Japanese, Filipino and Asian fusion cuisine, and mobile bar.
Some of the specialties in their line up of Japanese dishes are the maki, teriyaki, kani salad, tempura, and sushi.
However, owner Ms. Lanyah Asombrado had the initiative that there may have been an increasing number of Kagay-anons enjoying maki and sushi, but many of us still look for local and Pinoy food in occasional parties. Thus, along with their Japanese dishes are some of the classic and favorite Filipino dishes that are familiar for us Filipinos, specifically Kagay-anons, included in their catering menu. Chicken, beef, pork, veggies, seafood, pasta and noodles, and desserts are the other food options you can choose from.
Their mobile bar is popular in weddings, birthdays and corporate events. They have been known for this kind of service that adds more value and fun to the party giving the guests a great time as they enjoy their flavorful drinks and mixes.
For orders and inquiries, you can contact them via landline at 8577238, or via phone call or text at numbers 09778024159 or 09199990258.

It has established itself as one of the most notable cafe and restaurant in the city located at the corner of Apolinar Velez and Toribio Chavez Streets.
The café itself offers in-house catering services for small to medium sized occasions and functions inside their two function rooms.
Many notable celebrities have taken time to actually visit and dine at Brewberry. This is because their desserts and cakes have already been making a name outside of Cagayan de Oro which piques the curiosity of these celebrities to try out the place.
For their outside catering services, Brewberry has had the distinction of being voted as one of the best restaurants and catering services with the Best Adobo. Some of the highlights of their outside catering services include the Ateneo versus NU volleyball event held at the Xavier University Gym last year, the XU annual alumni homecoming, and the ABS-CBN Kapamilya event held at Camp Evangelista. Celebrities that have visited Brewberry include Charo Santos.

Most of the catering dishes are variety choices of Filipino dishes. Their catering amenities include buffet table with skirting, uniformed waiters, plates, utensils, and filtered water.
Judith’s is another of those small but well-known mom-and-pop-neighborhood places that offer very good catering services for all occasions such as weddings, proms, graduations, engagements, birthdays, baptisms, and other special celebrations. They are located in Macasandig. They were the catering service that covered the food services at the Limketkai Complex during the famous “Roa’s in Concert” held in 2012.
Literally, there are virtually hundreds of catering services in the city, but most prefer to operate within the peripheries of their areas on the fringes of the city. However, during the annual Kumbira Food Festival held at the Limketkai Center during the city fiesta celebrations, most of these catering services – most especially the ones mentioned above – always make an appearance to show off their food dishes and compete in the different contest categories.
