01 Oct Being Topless Or Half-Naked In Public Now Prohibited In Libertad, Misamis Oriental, Fine: P500+
Mga higala! Being in public without a shirt on or being topless/half-naked is now prohibited in Libertad, Misamis Oriental!
This is in accordance with their new Anti-Naked/Half-Naked Ordinance (s. 2020).
Below are the penalties for violators:
- 1st offense– a fine of P500 or 6 hours of community service
- 2nd offense– a fine of P1,000 or 8 hours of community service
- 3rd and subsequent offenses– a fine of P1,500 or six (6) months imprisonment or both fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court.
And, here are the exemptions:
- Activities or events with a special permit issued by the Municipal government/ implementing agencies;
- In cases of medical emergencies
- Indigenous people wearing ethnic clothes;
- Public swimming pools, beaches, and rivers;.
- Persons who are engaged in sports and sports activities;
- Persons in the conduct of their occupation (e.g. fishing, tuba gatherer, etc.)
