29 Jul CDO City Government to Hold a Traffic Education Seminar For Motorela Operators and Drivers

This coming August 9, 2016, the city government of Cagayan de Oro will conduct a traffic education seminar to be attended by motorela operators and drivers who own plate numbers ending with nine (9) and will renew their unit’s franchise. As explained by the chairman of Task Force Hapsay Dalan (TFHD), Lawyer Jose Edgardo Uy, motorela operators could never renew their franchise except if they will attend a seminar conducted by the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA).
The said traffic education seminar will prompt operators and drivers regarding the traffic rules and road signs, not to mention the responsibilities of every operator. Also, the operators will have to take a written examination. When they fail to pass the exam, they will be required to take an exam before they’ll be given the certificate for the renewal of their franchise.
“Requirement gyud ni nga seminar every time mag-renew sila sa ilang franchise (This seminar is a requirement every time they will renew their franchise),” said Uy adding that they restricted the franchise renewal after observing a lot of motorela operators and drivers who are unknowledgeable regarding the road signs and traffic rules aside from being abusive.
