A triathlete from Cagayan de Oro signs up to a Cebu-based racing team.

Jonathan Liloc from Cagayan de Oro was added to the MOTORACE-Kawasaki Racing Team which was headed by a Cebuana Olympian Mary Joy Tabal.

Liloc is a consistent podium finisher in his peer group in several local triathlon competition in the country which made the racing team to add him to their growing roster.

John Asuncion also a triathlete and also from Cagayan de Oro, recommended Liloc to the team.

MotorAce-Kawasaki Racing Team’s Chippi Borromeo stated, “Our goal has always been to help those who lack the resources but are passionate about the sport. John Asuncion told us that Jonathan would really love to excel, but he just lacks the support. Hopefully, with our support, we will be able to help him excel in the sport.”

Apart from Tabal, the team also has the multi-titled triathlete John Philip Dueñas, underbone ace riders Dondon Requilme and Mark Capoy, and triathlon age groupers Tenggoy and Merly Colminares.

Liloc stated, “It is a blessing that MotorAce came into the picture. It is a big help for me financially.”

In the Columbia Trail Masters Off Road Duathlon Series held at the High Ridge Macasandig in Cagayan de Oro City, Liloc won the third place despite the bad fall during the race last weekend.
