Trillanes To Hold Press Conference at a Restaurant After the AFP Barred Him from Using Camp Aguinaldo as the Venue

“No, that is not allowed,” said AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla on Wednesday upon hearing that vice presidential candidate Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has invited the media to a press conference at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club on May 5, Thursday. Thus, barring the said senator to hold a press conference inside main headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Camp Aguinaldo.

Padilla added that the AFP strictly maintains its non-partisan role, sticking to its main mandate of guarantee a secured, peaceful and orderly run of the elections quoting, “We are quite sure that the senator knows this.”

With this, former Navy officer Trillanes will hold the press conference at Max’s Restaurant on Scout Tuazon in Quezon City instead. This is according to the latest advisory from his office.
