24 Nov Signal No. 1 in Misamis Oriental and Other Areas as Marce Makes Its Way to Mindanao
East of Mindanao, cyclone Marce has already developed into a tropical depression and is expected to make a landfall over provinces in Surigao today, November 24, 2016, Thursday. Marce maintained its strength which was previously recorded at sustained winds of 45 kph near the eye and gustiness of 55 kph.
Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its 8:00 PM advisory on November 23, 2016 raising Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 among areas of Southern Leyte, Bohol, Siquijor, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Island, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.
Text messages from NDRRMC even circulated containing the said warning.
Rainfall is estimated to be moderate to heavy within the 200-km area of the tropical depression and is expected to get out of the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday.
