27 Sep Unique Food Establishments To Check Out @ Uptown CDO
Anyone who’s ever passed Butcher’s Best (near Xavier University main campus) must have wondered where that long line of people at the jeepney stop is headed.
True blue Kagay-anons know that they’re headed ‘UPTOWN’ – that long stretch of road that starts from Masterson Avenue and ends at Lumbia Airport Park, with amazing establishments catering to Kagay-anons and tourists looking for something nice and unique.
If you ever find yourself Uptown and jonesing for a place to snack it up, have a good meal, or have a good time in general, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a quick list of establishments you can check out:
Terrazzo Bar and Resto Uptown
Terrazzo Bar and Resto, a mainstay of Cagayan de Oro dining scene, opened a new branch last January 5, 2018 along Regatta Square, Pueblo de Oro. Well-known for serving home-made meals and for its homey ambience, Terrazzo’s Uptown branch is worth a visit for the consummate foodie!
Shield Diner is primarily a burger place, but that’s not the only reason to check it out. Easily located in front of SM City Uptown at the VLC Towers, Shield Diner features a comics-inspired menu as well as action figures decorating the venue. If you’re looking for the ideal location to feel one with your inner geek, Shield Diner’s the best place to go.
Chimmy’s Chicken & Beer
Chimmy’s Chicken & Beer is straightforward in its marketing, but did you know it’s also a quick walk away from a carwash? Chimmy’s tagline is “chimaek ta!” – chimaek being a portmanteau of chicken and maekju, the Korean word for beer. Hit the place up for some really good chicken and beer at the diner while you get your car cleaned up nearby. Multitasking!
Blugré Coffee, a well-known coffee jaunt from Davao City, opened its first branch in Cagayan de Oro at VLC Tower One, Pueblo IT Ecozone last April 24, 2018. Blugre Coffee is famous for its Durian Coffeechino, which is trademarked by the company. It’s a great venue for intimate conversations and for moments of personal contemplation.
Cafe J: Coffee & Brunch
Another spot for coffee lovers out there, Cafe J is located a stone’s throw away from Corpus Christi School along the CDO-Airport-Bukidnon Road. Its claim to distinction is its menu, which features South Korean dishes and drinks along with traditional coffees and pastries. If you’ve been aching for a side of kimbap along with your coffee, then this is the perfect place for you.
Located along Masterson’s Avenue at the mini-market The Lane 101, Bowerbird Coffee has a cheery atmosphere along with great coffee. It’s uniquely located in a plaza-like setting, making it a great stop for when you’re taking a break from shopping around The Lane 101.
