11 May University of Mindanao Collects 5 Jiu Jitsu Gold Medals

Last Saturday, May 7, Univerity of Mindanao (UM) Judo Club of Davao City went home victorious in an event that is organized by the Ju-Jitsu Federation of the Philippines Inc. (JJFP) and sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
The 2016 Ju-Jitsu Mindanao Regional Tournament that took place at the NCCC Mall Davao activity center has participated by 11 Judo Clubs from various parts of Mindanao. 5 gold medals have been collected by 4 representatives from UM.
They are Jackilou Escarpe (2 Golds), Bernabe Anong(1 Gold), Marco Tumampad (1 Gold), and Ryan Donor (1 Gold).
Aside from the gold medals, UM also packed 3 silvers with them; Marco Tumampad, Christine Dyle Lozada, and Bless Melecio each got one silver medal in their respective categories.
Bless Anne Melecio also got one bronze together with Lord Anthony Pintoy who also got one bronze.
The event helps the advertisement of the sport in Mindanao where Basketball and Football are the common sports that are known and played by the people.
