11 Jan US Donates Another P330 Million For Marawi
With its recent P730 million assistance, the US government has announced an additional P330 million donation for the recovery of Marawi City.
According to an article by Philstar Global, the US Agency for International Development or USAID, Washington now has a total of over P1 billion worth of contribution to the recovery and rehabilitation of Marawi and surrounding areas.
The additional P330 million funding would provide opportunities for the city’s youth. This will give them the chance to enhance their livelihood skills and assist other citizens in their communities.
“The United States is deeply committed to supporting our friend. And ally in long-term recovery efforts to ensure a brighter and more peaceful future for the people of Mindanao,” US Ambassador Sung Kim said.
In recent reports, the initial assistance of P730M by USAID aims to restore the most important needs of Marawi. This will include the repair of water access, crop propagation, and the reconstruction of various educational facilities.
Furthermore, they are currently helping to provide public services such as water, electricity, and healthcare.
