23 Aug Vatican Approves XU’s Campus Of The Future Project
Mga higala! The Vatican has finally approved the “Campus of the Future” project of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan!
This project aims to relocate XU’s main campus to the 21-hectare Manresa area in Uptown CDO and will feature state-of-the-art school buildings and administration facilities.
It will also have a lot of open and green spaces for the:
- main plaza
- interconnected courtyards
- campus-wide wireless connectivity
- bike lanes
- sports facilities
- amphitheater
- a University Forum
It will then be named the “Masterson Campus” as a way of honoring Jesuit Fr. William Francis Masterson, SJ.
Sounds amazing, right higala? But, there’s more!
Beside this new campus will be the 14.3-hectare township that will be named Manresa Town and will provide students with “convenient and safe residential options, easy access to commercial establishments, and future-ready offices”.
The campus’ construction is expected to start in the 2nd quarter of 2022, in partnership will property developer Cebu Landmasters Inc (CLI).
