17 Mar Vatican Says Catholic Church Cannot Bless Same-Sex Marriages
Mga higala! In a recent statement approved by Pope Francis, the Vatican has expressed that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex marriages!
According to the said statement, “it is not licit to impart a blessing on relationships, or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside of marriage, as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex.”
The statement then added that “there are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God’s plan for marriage and family.”
The said type of union was also described as a choice and “a way of life that cannot be recognized as objectively ordered to the revealed plans of God.”
However, the Vatican emphasized that their stand about same-sex marriages does not imply a judgment on persons with “homosexual inclinations” and that members of the LGBTQ community, as individuals, may receive a blessing if they live according to Church teaching.
