16 Jun LOOK: Veggie Farm @ Talakag, Bukidnon Eyed As Resettlement Site For “Balik Probinsya” Beneficiaries
Mga higala! A vegetable production area in Talakag, Bukidnon, with an elevation of over 1,400-meters above sea level, is being offered by Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri Jr. as the proposed resettlement site for the beneficiaries of the “Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa” program of the Duterte administration!
The said area is perfect for food production and is being supported by the government with farm-to-market road projects, water impounding systems, solar irrigation, and vegetable processing and packing facilities.
Future residents will be introduced to high-value vegetable production, including strawberry farming, with the help of experts from Cordillera.
ICYDK, the “Balik Probinsya” program aims to decongest urban areas, especially of informal settlers, and help them return to their home provinces while assisting them with support and incentives on transportation, family, livelihood, housing, subsistence, and education.
