06 Jun WATCH: Venomous Australian Black Widow Spider Spotted @ Bukidnon
Mga higala! An Australian Black Widow spider (aka redback spider) was recently spotted in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon!
This spider is said to be highly venomous and is believed to originate in South Australia or adjacent Western Australian deserts.
According to GMA’s Born To Be Wild, the said Black Widow spider was found by a young individual in Manolo Fortich while searching for spiders for his “spider derby” line-up.

Since this is not a native species, a Pinoy arachnologist said that the venomous spider may have arrived here via trading or via certain spider migration methods.
