08 Feb War on Scalawags: Cocpo Starts Internal Cleansing by Surprise Inspection

Spokesperson of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), Police Chief Inspector Mardy Hortillosa, disclosed that they are now conducting surprise inspection to all Cocpo officers as part of their internal cleansing process.
According to a report from Sun.Star Superbalita, all cars, and motorcycles owned by the police officers were inspected on February 6, Monday. From papers to motor vehicle registration were inspected.
It was also revealed that selected police officers were formed as an intelligence group here in the city to assess the police officers who are possibly involved in illegal activities.
So far the monitoring conducted to all policemen is still ongoing.
It can be recalled that Philippine National Police Chief General Ronald dela Rosa announced that they would temporarily halt their war on drugs and focus more on the internal cleansing among police officers which dubbed this operation as “war on scalawags.”
