On October 21, Friday about 6:30 p.m., a 23-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were took into custody as they yielded about a kilogram of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as shabu at a checkpoint in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA) from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) conducted the joint operation and intercepted an SUV at a checkpoint in Barangay Pawak, said commander of the Army’s 65th Infantry Battalion, Col. Joselito Pastrana.

The authorities noticed as they inspected the vehicle driven by a certain Raihana Disalo, that the girl was sitting uncomfortably on a large plastic bag.

Pastrana said it turned out that the girl was sitting on shabu.

The woman and the girl are now under the custody of PDEA in ARMM, Pastrana added.

The confiscated shabu was estimated to value about P10 million, operations chief of the PDEA-ARMM, Marlon Santos said.
