09 Sep Woman Taken into Custody For Making a Bomb Hoax at a Mall in Cebu
On September 9, Friday past 11 a.m., a production worker women was arrested by the police after pulling off a bomb joke at a mall in uptown Cebu City.
A resident of Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City named Jasmin Sala, aged 37 admitted that she told the security guard that her sling bag has a bomb inside, but she explained that it was just a joke.
She stated, “Nag-joke ra gyud ko. Wala ko kahibaw ko nga bawal na.”
The policemen brought her to the Cebu City Police Office along Gorordo Avenue in Cebu City while crying.
She said, “Dako kaayo ang akong pagmahay. Tabangi intawn ko ninyo.”
Sala will be charged for violating the Presidential Decree 1727 or the law that forbids malicious spreading of false information or bomb scare when work resumes on Tuesday at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.
Imprisonment for five years if ever Sala is proven guilty.
Sala told the guard at the mall’s entrance that her bag has a bomb, Gerly Salimbagon, chief security of Robinsons Place Fuente said.
Sala and her female companion were supposed to process visa application in the mall.
Salimbangon followed and invited Sala for questioning.
The security at the mall then turned over Sala to Cebu City police.
Inside Sala’s bag was a lipstick, makeup kit, a cellphone and it didn’t have any explosives.
