17 Feb 2 Women were arrested for Forging Gov’t ID, Documents in CDO
Two women were arrested for allegedly faking government identification cards (ID) and other official documents in Cagayan de Oro City.
According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the suspects were identified as Marietta Beltran, 36 years old, and Nycee Gultiano, 18 years old.
An entrapment operation was conducted by the operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) along Chavez street where the suspects were arrested.
Forged driver’s licenses, Philippine Postal Corp. ID cards and various government ID cards were confiscated by the authorities. Printers, computers, and lamination machines were also seized from the suspects’ possession.
Chief Inspector Melgar Devaras, deputy chief of CIDG Region 10 said that the suspects have the complete equipment in forging ID cards and documents. They would do anything if requested, even diplomas, they could also forge it. He has also cited those in Recto, Manila saying that these suspects could do anything.
Meanwhile, the suspects denied the allegations in forging documents saying that they only do encoding and photocopying works.
