01 Oct LOOK: The Yampana Ridge Of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon
Mga higala! As an addition to our list of the many amazing hiking/camping spots here in Northern Mindanao, here is the YAMPANA RIDGE of Mt. Kibuwa, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon!
The ridge is located on the north-eastern part of the province and is around 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) above sea level, with temperatures ranging from 16 to 31 °C.
Yampana Ridge is around 2-3 hours away from Cagayan de Oro City.

HOW TO GET THERE?
Just follow the guide and tips of Sir Jhong below:
1. Ride an Aircon bus at Agora Terminal going to Impasug-ong (P140 fare as of September 2019). Travel time is around 2 hours. Tell the conductor to drop you off at NOMIARC.
2. From highway NOMIARC, ride a habal-habal to Datu Melendez‘s residence (P70 fare good for 2 persons). Travel time is around 15 minutes.
3. Meet the datu and ask permission before climbing the ridge. He will then provide a local guide (P800 per day for guide fee), a tribal fee of P150 per person and 1 peso coin offering for lugbak.
4. Expect around 2 hours of hiking from the datu’s residence to the ridge’s peak.
5. If planning to stay overnight, bring 3 liters drinking water, some food, and camping gears like tent or hammock.
6. The sea of clouds at Yampana Ridge can be witnessed at around 5:00 am, depending on the weather.
7. Bring your own garbage before leaving the ridge. Leave no trace.
