28 Dec Zero Injuries of Firecrackers In NorthMin during Christmas – DOH
A data from the Department of Health (DOH) regional office presents the zero casualties of firecrackers during the Christmas celebration in Northern Mindanao.
According to a report from Sun.Star, the region also recorded zero casualties. It can be recalled that the DOH has put the whole region under code white alert on December 21, Wednesday.
As of December 26, Monday, associate agencies have reported zero incidents caused by firecrackers in the region, said Nur Ian Caridad, Department of Health (DOH)-Northern Mindanao education promotion officer 3. He added that the police has also recorded zero cases of any stray bullet.
The code white will be lifted on January 5, 2017, with that, the monitoring will still pursue until the said date.
The late issuance of permits to firecracker vendors and the intensified information drive concerning the disastrous effects of firecrackers helped a lot in preventing injuries caused by firecrackers, Caridad said.
He is hoping that the casualties will remain zero but they are also expecting a possible number of injuries as the new year celebration comes close.
All government hospitals across the region such as Northern Mindanao Medical Center were tapped by Caridad to be on alert and prepared to give medical care to possible patients.
